About the Role
We are seeking an intern to create a comprehensive and proactive Advocacy Plan for our organization. While our organization has a long history of positive disabilities representation, we recognize that there are additional opportunities to proactively advocate for people with IDD in our area that we have not yet been able to take advantage of. This position will give you an opportunity to contribute to this effort in a meaningful way and to help give a voice to a worthy population that has traditionally been overlooked or marginalized.

Key Skills & Qualifications (if any)
Superior written and verbal communication skills; experience with persuasive writing/copy editing a plus Organized and detail-oriented; able to research and analyze information Proficiency with social media platforms, blogging, and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience using in a professional setting a plus Interest in working with adults with varying levels of intellectual and physical disabilities Comfortable talking with people from all walks of life and different backgrounds about topics that may be sensitive or difficult to articulate; strong interpersonal skills; able to put people at ease Positive outlook and enthusiasm for constructive and affirmative relationship building
